Events to Benefit, Launch New Farm Chastain
From NeighborNewspapers.com:
Farm Chastain, a new community farm project at Chastain Park in Buckhead, has sparked a two-way collaboration to raise funds and interest in neighborhood volunteers growing organic produce and participating in interactive workshops while learning from each other and gardening experts. The site will be supported by the conservancy and the Southeastern Horticultural Society, with the groundbreaking for Farm Chastain scheduled for Saturday.

Silver Anniversary of the Southeastern Flower Show Two Years in the Making, the 25th Flower Show to be presented in 2013
ATLANTA– The Southeastern Flower Show Committee and the Southeastern Horticultural Society met and determined that additional time was needed to ensure a landmark Silver Anniversary Flower Show. The presentation of the twenty-fifth Southeastern Flower Show will be delayed a year in order to prepare for the best possible Anniversary Show. Targeted dates will be the late February, early March 2013. This celebratory event will expand to display more gardens, artistic displays, speakers and workshops.

The popular Southeastern Flower Show has been the major floral and gardening event for metropolitan Atlanta and the Southeast for a generation. The Flower Show promotes conservation and awareness of the natural environment through education, horticultural excellence and artistic expression. The Flower Show is both fun and enjoyable, with something for everyone from children to seniors.

The Southeastern Horticultural Society Presents “In Tune With Blooms”
The 24th Annual Southeastern Flower Show
The 24th Southeastern Flower Show opens Friday, February 25, 2011 and closes Sunday, February 27th at the Cobb Galleria Centre located at Two Galleria Parkway in the Northwest Atlanta area between I-75 and I-285. Show hours are 10 AM to 8 PM Friday and Saturday, and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday

This year’s theme “Discover the Beauty of Green” offers something for everyone. Show Chairman, Emily Johnson promises that her 2,000 volunteer staff has created an outstanding show, and the timing will be perfect for those who are ready to enjoy the beauty of gardens, flowers and horticulture in February.
