East Lake Community Learning Garden

What is the East Lake Community Learning Garden?

The East Lake Community Learning Garden (ELCLG) was founded in 2010, sponsored by the East Lake Foundation in partnership with SHS.  ELCLG provides a safe, supportive environment where neighborhood residents can grow organic produce in a small urban farm and participate in interactive workshops while learning from each other and gardening experts.  An active educational environment, the ELCLG also serves as an outdoor classroom for East Lake children.

Where is ELCLG located?

The garden is located near the corner of 2nd Avenue and Hosea L. Williams Drive in Atlanta’s East Lake neighborhood, across 2nd Avenue from the site of the seasonal East Lake Farmers Market.

How does the ELCLG benefit the East Lake community?

The Learning Garden serves as a gathering place and community-building platform for residents of The Villages at East Lake and the broader East Lake neighborhood.  The Learning Garden fosters healthier eating and living habits, while building bridges among neighbors.

How can I get involved?
